New York/ Hong Kong, 1st of August 2003 - The Cleverlearn® English Language Center in Shekou, Shenzhen (China) officially opens its first classes today.
A group of teachers and principals from the Nanshan Education Board are the Center's pioneering students. They will be spending four weeks of intensive training at six hours a day.
The classes focus on Conversational English skills, particularly for those teachers in subjects other than English; cross-cultural communication skills; and exposure to interactive and dynamic classroom training. The group is scheduled for a two-month educational training in Canada after their program at the Center.
The students will be taught General English half of the time, while the other half will be spent on lectures and movies on cultural issues. The training includes presentations, discussions, debates, games, and other interesting learning activities.
Prior to the opening of classes, the Language Center held a Children's Summer Workshop in July as a trial class.
