Cleverlearn adds Impetus to Further Education: Learning English at all Levels

Hong Kong / Munich, 12th. of December 2005 – Whoever wanted to learn Eng-lish until now, had to make the choice between attendence schooling or online courses. Cleverlearn offers a solution to this dilema: The leading supplier of digi-tal English learning aids and online courses, offers an effective online alternative method. Companies needing to synchronise various teaching methods, profit from such an integration concept, which is the only one of it’s kind on the mar-ket. Personnel Managers are being forced to take immediate action. Despite tendency to-wards sinking budgets, increased efficiency is expected within companies further edu-cation programs. However, no curtailments should be made on the language profi-ciency of their employees. Especially so, of English, the international trading lan-guage. In times of progressive globalisation, mastering the universal language, is rec-ognised as being of major importance. Cleverlearn has created a new concept for personnel management staff.Whilst under-taking an English further eduction program, the choice no longer needs to be taken, between attendance schooling or E-Learning-Offers. Both learning methods are com-bined and subsequently complemented through mobile learning. In other words: Tra-ditional courses are complemented with technical based learning tools, to ease diffi-culties in learning English, and offer flexibility, in allowing users, to either learn at home or underway, whilst offering each course participant a personalised and inte-grated approach. Contrary to the conventional English courses, the so called, “ isolated application,“ the participant has the advantage of having access to a profound integrated network of learning solutions. Principally, it is possible to revise a course segment and newly learnt vocabulary on one’s PC and respectively renew one’s knowledge with a PDA. It is entirely the students decision, whether he wants to learn at home or underway. Ir-respective of time or location, being able to learn, doesn’t pose as being a problem. Cleverlearn’s concept, offers additional options to decision makers, responsible for internal company course policies. Not only through mobile learning is the spectrum of methods extended. Additional potential is offered to specialists and executive person-nel, who’s job diversity puts emphasis on high mobility. „With this, we are adding new impetus to discussions about E-Learning und Blended Learning”, says Heinrich Pletschacher, European Country Manager from Cleverlearn. Language courses engross a major part of companies further education programs. However, employees are addressed to make it their own responsibility to keep them-selves up to date. This offers great scope for potential improvement. For example, Cleverlearn’s Integration concept, interlocking it’s teaching offers (Attendance Schooling, E-Learning, Blended Learning, Mobile Learning) and technical tools, plays a decisive role in reducing costs, time and effort. „ Only when conventional teaching methods, are combined with modern interactive and mobile training solu-tions“, emphasises Pletschacher the decisive advantages, „is personalised further edu-cation possible.“ Re Cleverlearn After being set up in 1999 ,Cleverlearn has established itself as being the leading sup-plier of computer based technology in learning English as a Foreign Lan-guage(English as a Foreign Language, EFL).The business ,with offices in Hong Kong and Munich, became famous for its translation tool “Clicktionary”. Since then, Cleverlearn offers a wide range of English learning tools, which can all be co-ordinated together. Thanks to an innovative integration concept all courses are avail-able on the computer, in the internet as well as on MP3 players ,DVD’s, mobile phones or PDA. Regardless of the time, or irrespective of one’s location , customers can learn English efficiently, either alone or in virtual groups (Virtual Class-room),continuously revising and extending their vocabulary. The main investors of Cleverlearn are the German E-Commerce-Pioneer and Telebook founder Michael Gleissner as well as the Dornier Family.
