The Saigon Times Daily, 17th of November 2003—Cleverlearn Corp. (USA), a pioneer in the growing internet-based English-learning industry, recently opened an English training center in Vietnam.
The new center offers English courses for both children and adults with special courses on commercial communication, finance and banking, travel, tourism and even Vietnamese cuisine. Cleverlearn's online system allows learners to study at their convenient time and in any place that has access to the Internet.
“The Cleverlearn Center will be an English environment where learners can study and enjoy free entertainment such as watching films, doing exercises and using Internet network and exchange with lecturers in English,” says academic director Paul Hinshaw.
The training center was opened with a total investment totaling to half a million dollars. It expects to tap more market in the country as global trading and competition makes learning English a necessity than a privilege. General manager J. Lawrence S. Mercado discloses the company's goal in helping indigent children in the southern provinces by providing free English courses and open houses for those in HCMC.
Established in New York in 1999, Cleverlearn was the first to initiate the model train to teach English as a second language using online communication method. The training center in Vietnam can be found at 186 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in HCMC's District 1.
